6. How to measure the cabinet dimensions for the dishwasher
Step 1: First, you need to measure the width of the cabinet for the dishwasher. The standard cabinet opening width compared to the small space cabinet opening width
- Measure from one cabinet compartment to another, ensuring that the sides of your dishwasher will be completely enclosed after installation. It is better to leave a small gap on each side rather than making it too snug.
- You can install it close to a wall or cabinet on one side as long as you leave at least 20mm between it and the side of the dishwasher door.
Note: The utility position may vary depending on the model, so check your installation guide for specific details.
Step 2: Continue measuring the depth of the cabinet for the dishwasher
- Measure from the back of the hole to the front.
- Make sure to leave enough space (at least 500mm) in front of the dishwasher for comfortable loading and unloading of dishes, plus enough room to move between the open door and any counters or islands.
