What is an induction coil? Which brand’s induction cooktop is good? Check out the structure, function, and working principle of the induction cooktop in this article if you intend to buy or repair an induction cooker. This is one of the most important and expensive components of the cooker.

What is the concept of an induction coil?

Induction cooktop

The induction coil is a term used quite frequently in technical and household appliance fields. Below, you can understand the rough concept of this component as follows:

An induction coil is a component or device that can create a magnetic field, can attract magnets, and can be controlled when an electric current passes through it. It is commonly applied in industries such as manufacturing and producing household appliances, including induction cookers.

In this article, we would like to share more about induction cooktops so that those who are looking for information about this component can clearly understand its structure, function, and working principle.

Understanding the induction cooktop

Structure of the induction cooktop

Induction coils are widely used in household products such as induction cookers, infrared cookers, rice cookers, electric cookers…. It is considered an extremely important component that generates heat for the devices.

The induction coil of the induction cooker is placed beneath the glass surface; it is essentially a metal coil. Typically, these wires are made of copper. They are tightly connected to form a circular shape. The surface of the coil is quite flat. Understanding the details of this component will help users grasp the entire structure of the induction cooker, including the cooling fan system, control circuit, and accompanying temperature sensors.

The induction coil has a maximum size of about 30cm and a thickness of about 4cm.

Working principle of the induction coil

When you turn on the power, an alternating current flows through the coil and creates an invisible, high-frequency magnetic field around it. Unless there is a pot or pan on the cooking zone, no heat will be generated: the cooking zone remains cold.

The electricity flowing through this coil creates a magnetic field directed straight up to the ceiling. Place a pot or pan with a magnetic base on the cooktop surface, separated by the glass of the cooker. The magnetic field causes the electrons in the metal of the pot to move. This type of energy will convert and be released in the form of heat. The unique aspect of cooking with an induction cooker is that heat is generated directly in the pan rather than on the surface of the cooker, allowing for immediate control of the heat source and safer cooking.

Functions and applications of the induction cooktop

Thanks to the induction coil, cooking appliances save much more energy compared to gas or conventional electric cookers. In our tests, the induction cooker boiled water in just half the time compared to other types of cookers for the same amount of water. Specifically, the induction cooker boiled 2 liters of water in about 7 minutes, while the electric cooker took nearly 16 minutes.
Fast speed and energy savings are advantages of cookers using induction coils. However, the downside is that this component is quite expensive, and induction cookers are also more expensive than gas cookers, infrared cookers, and electric cookers.
The induction coil is widely applied in the manufacturing industry, as well as in the production of household appliances. Especially in induction cooker products.
Which brand’s induction cooktop is good?
Induction coil - EGO induction coil

Currently, there are many types of induction cooktops, however, not all induction cooktops are good, durable, and energy-efficient.

One of the best “premium” induction cooktops recommended by experts is the EGO induction coil, a German induction coil from the E.G.O Produktion GmbH & CO.KG Germany. This is a technology group that has nearly 100 years of development, specializing in manufacturing components and kitchen equipment.

The EGO induction coil is a super durable type, with rapid heating capability in just 3-5 seconds, evenly distributing heat to cook food quickly while preserving flavor and nutrients. Using the EGO induction cooktop helps save cooking time and especially has a long lifespan.

A high-quality imported German induction cooker will help you cook deliciously, safely, and energy-efficiently. If you are looking for a high-end German built-in induction cooker equipped with E.G.O standard induction components, you can refer to the model DIB4 888 induction cooker to optimize daily cooking performance.
