This is a “life-saving” feature. When water in the pot overflows onto the control panel, the sensor will detect it and automatically turn off the stove within 3 – 5 seconds to protect the components underneath. In some stove models, after alerting the user, the spilled water outside the stove will be cooled within a few seconds thanks to the stove’s rapid cooling system, helping users avoid burns while handling the overflowed water.
